It is GRAMMAR... thank you very much. ;) You should make sure you can type correctly before bagging about how others spell and talk with unreadable text.

Whether he spells it "grammer" or "grammar", he's complaining about grammar, not spelling. Note mi amazzin grmmir skilz in taht last scentinse. And my extreme ridiculously lacking of spelling in the ones what is just be typed before this here sentence.

Check out our rock comedy band, Pit O' Bodies! Were missing our bassist, and the recording quality is bad, especially since the vocalist has no mic.

It's easier for others to read if people use proper spelling and grammar.

Half the people in this forum can't spell "grammar". Not even the person who posted it. (No Offence!!!)

My name is Shas'o R'Vre. I am here to take you through the portal. Depending, of course, on whether you take the blue pill or the red pill...

Hey, I can spell "grammar"
Also, I get lots of letters with weird phrases - I have to waste 2 or 3 messages just to get the thought that they were trying to convey

In my humble opinion, (not imho) I (not i) think that internet slang should be kept to a reasonable minimum. Most of the people here on yoyogames cannot spell 'grammar' correctly, let alone use correct grammar, and some try to use slang with their poor spelling. I try to understand, but sometimes I get very confused. :(

Speaking as someone with a little bit of grey in my hair and a pompous attitude, using "chat speak" just makes the whole thing difficult to read. There is a difference between the use of "u" which is as old as the hills, and phrases like "ROLF" which is just not well known.

The nature of language is to be understood, and standard english is easier to follow than more modern stuff.

Thats my two-pence worth of pomposity.

Just one thing: how the heck are newbies like me supposed to understand Internet slang? For me, it has become a habit to write properly, and I only understand a bit of internet slang. It is possible just to talk normally unless you are talking to friends who understand what you are saying?

By the way, hunterreborn, it is actually spelled 'ROFL' not 'ROLF'. 'Rolling On Floor Laughing'. Like I said, I know a bit of internet slang.

There is no shame in being new.
I am 40 and every time I blink there is something new.
Like lol = laugh out loud
Or wtf= what the f***
Or bff = best friends forever
Do you know how I learned what these terms meant?
I typed bff ?
And when I saw wtf I typed, wtf ?
When I was new I didn’t get bent out of shape for not knowing what the abbreviations mint.
The only thing that annoyed me was the people typing stupid things like “Noob” , ”n00b alert! n00b alert! sum1 get the n00b police!!”

Or even worse people who think that they should point out bad spelling and make an example of it.
The only people that should point out bad typing or spelling on the web is the people on a learning to spell website.
Anything else is rude and disrespectful.
I know that I am horribly dyslexic and sometimes I don’t catch that I have botched the spelling of a common word, especially when I am tired.
It is a waste of time to point this out and then force me and others to endure a spelling lesson, or even worse a spellers rant.
The whole point of grammar is to be respectful and polite.
Because if it wasn’t then it wouldn’t mater how you spoke it as long as your point went across and was understood.

I’m a writer of children’s books with companion software and an avid game programmer.
