**The following competition is only available to entrants from the Netherlands**

Do you have enough energy to make a game about energy saving? Join the Climate Quest competition and try to win that Xbox 360!

The goal is to create a game intended for 10-15 year olds to make them aware of the possibilities for energy saving. Let them discover how they can save energy and have a positive positive influence on the environment; for instance, teach them to buy used products and take shorter showers.

You will need to sign up in advance to receive instructions on how to send in your game. The final deadline is 31st August 2007 at 17:30 CET (that's Dutch local time).

For those who are interested, there will be an optional 1 day summer course for people who need some help with Game Maker and with designing their game. The course will cost €35,- and will be held in August in Amsterdam and Heerlen. Contact Climate Quest for more information regarding this course.

For more information, contact details, sign up instructions, all the rules and info please see the website: www.climatequest.org

The one day summer course is upcoming Wednesday and Thursday so if you want to join in that, hurry up.
I'll discuss how you can built an interesting game and beginners can start building a maze game while experienced users are explained how to built there own RPG.

This workshop is optional though and without joining you are free to compete as well for that Xbox 360.

I'm hoping to see many of you on the workshop as well as many of your games in the submissions.

If you could stretch the next competition to England and other areas I'll consider entering. I'd even consider trying to win an Xbox 360, I don't want one but I'd use it. I like competitions but I'm not moving to the Netherlands to enter...

uhm nal you should know that this isn't a competition organized by yoyogames or mark.. When you click on "partijen"you see a list of organizes who helped it..

and for going to england I think there's a very small chance - I believe only unesco and microsoft are non-dutch based organizations.. Even more, it's mainly organized by the UW (university of wageningen) - a dutch university

I won't compete though - couldn't think of anything really original and read about it too late..

This is just another "GlobalWarming" initiative. "GlobalWarming" exists but we don't have an impact that would make any difference. I think it's a farce, just like the contest.

It doesn't really since the contest is over. Unfortunately I can't read dutch, so I can't find out what games were entered, and which game won.

Can someone who knows dutch explore the site and find out?

btw you can get he whole site in english by pressing the little UK flag/icon on top of the page!
