You should make a game out of this. I could see it now! Only it wouldn't be a "raider" because raiders are theifs who "raid" stars if you know what I mean. I know because I coined the pharase. (not to brag or anything)

I tend to rate games what they deserve, regardless of what they're already at. It's the fairest way to do it and how it should be done. 6 star ratings should only be given to deserving games. There aren't many (if any) that actually deserve it.

Don't forget - if you're giving a game six stars you're saying it cannot be bettered.

I used the "like it or not" system. If I liked it and wanted to see it prosper, I'd rate it 6 stars. If I witnessed absolute garbage, then I'd give it a 1 star rating. If we had that system at YoYo Games, it might be a little more fair. For Example: I could have a game that 15 Thunbs Ups, and 10 Thumbs down. And if it has no ratings I'll wait before someone rates it.

I do like the idea of that game. However, we shouldn't limit it. I'll include joystick support, choose-your-side stuff, and an Achievements system. It'll take a little time though.

I tried to do like a 1945-esque shooting game where the player shoots the starships and bombs the 1 star raiders. Then travels to different villages and protects the citizens of the remaining theives, but I didn't know how or if it could be done.

i think i give almost every game i play 6 stars.

i know that some people will rate low, so i counter act them.

I think everything gets balanced out. some people give 1's and some give 6's and some rate realisticly. Thats why I think it i simporant to rate the "newest" games that way they don't get lost in the dungeon of the never rated game.......When that happens a thousand posts pop up that read """"PLAY MY GAME!!!!!!!"""""

I hope you realize it takes 2 six star ratings per 1-star rating to even hit the front page. The 6 star raters and the one star raters don't even out because if they were even them we get a lot of 3 star games.

I rated two or three games 6 stars without playing them because I was bored.

I do care about my game being played though.
What is a star anymore? Some kind of badge
you wear around? No... Just a rating...

You will never have all ratings honest!
Some people grade harsh, others more lenient.
I think ratings should be for how hard you worked.
Some people would agree with me, others shun me to
the pits of old stinky men... (Which I do not like at all!)

My main concern over ratings is that they judge where your game is listed in the most popular list, I had a #25 demo and then it got drasticly downgraded.

People like to weed out the weaker games...

If I like a game I give it a 6 no matter if I think it deserves a 5 or a 4 ,just so its rating goes up a little and to counter all the malicious rating going on and such.

Well, the games don't have to be rated 6 stars only to counter the one star raiders, it's only that everyone has to rate a game as much as he thinks it is worth to.

You know, people complain about the unfair 1 star raters when there are probably just as many unfair 6 star raters. Of course, the unfair 6-star raters, who are still just as dishonest, are welcome here...

I think the best solution to this whole problem is to raters to give reasons they rated the way they did. Then, simply run the rating through a moderator. That would fix any unfair ratings, as they would be rejected on the base that there wasn't any reason for the rating.
