I have a 3rd rate laptop, bottom of the line specs and it usually plays things (darn it, need money, want.. shiney... ..computer...)

its probably your graphics card. See if it meets the Min Requirement for gamemaker. Or else. Just use GM5

Why would GM5 help? He's talking about downloading off the site so he probably means the EXE files which you don't need to and can't use Game Maker to use.

Do you have the ProSavage DDR video card? Game maker games do not work on that card.
