Hi. I'm AzureGames. I'm from the GMC. I know a lot about Game Maker and started using it in 2004.

If there isn't just a topic for this already, there should be one. Post suggestions you would like to give to YoYo Games websites/forums.

My suggestion, use a different forum software instead of Beast, maybe IPB (if affordable) or PunBB, or even MyBB.

All are good forum software in my opinion, as I'm familiar with Inivision Power Board forums and MyBB forums. =)

I'm finding this forum software quite intriguing at the moment. I've not used it before and it feels pretty darn nice after years of using IPB and SMF and all that. I'm gonna give it time.

I wonder why there isn't a link back to the YoYo site on the forum pages.

EDIT: NVM the first part

My requests for the YoYo team:
-Allow the user to turn off what of their info is visible (mostly age) not that I really care because I always fill in random dates... but yeah, that should be hidable if the user wants.
-Being able to change your email address would be nice now that the system is functional, because although my old one is active it took me quite a while to log in because I kept trying to use my new primary one.
-Logging in should be by username, not email adress.
-The "Reply to Topic", "Edit", "Delete" and "Alert" buttons should be actual buttons not just text as it took me quite a while to find them.
Also, it would be nice if when clickin the supported tags link at the right of the reply field if it opened a seperate window rather than change your page because its a little cumbersome having to go load a page then go back again.

I know it seems like alot but that's all I've seen wrong so far, the rest is awesome. I know you'll be taking care of the feedback as promptly as you can so I patiently await your updates. Thanks.

I agree that you should be able to turn off public age display. It's something I would rather not have in my profile, since people tend to make a lot of judgments based on age.

Also, posting comments needs some work. No way to edit after posting? No more than either 255 or 500 characters (depending on where you look), but no character counter? If the comment does go over, no warning before loosing the post? I had written a medium length post and lost it due to a too many characters error.

BTW, regarding 255 or 500 characters. The post box says 500 max, but the error says 255 max. I'm not sure which one it is.

I also noticed that the one project of mine that was uploaded is terribly out of date. I don't think it benefits anyone to be posting old versions of software.

Found a bug.
I was writing a long comment on a game when I noticed that it couldn't add any more chars to that comment.
I then deciced to split this into multiple comment and sent the comment -which appearantly had 500 chars which should be fine since the text said
Quote Comment on this game (max 500 characters):
Then I got an error QuoteThere were problems with the following fields:
Comment is too long (maximum is 255 characters)

and I couldn't get my comment anymore, even not by hitting 'back' in the browser (which usually works in... ANY other forum)

Edit: aww crap I hadn't noticed the post above me :(

Edit2: Linebreaks

still

won't

work

propperly :P
How should I format a long post if everything gets merged to a big chunk of text.
Edit3: Accidently reported myself.
Sorry mods ~~

There's no mod or admin here?
Noone of the YYG staff or anything?
Come on, they're just hiding.

I too feel that this simplistic version of the forum we grew to love is a bit too notepad -ish...
But we still have the gmc, though.

Yea, that makes no sense whatsoever. I like the forums, simple, yet utterly effective.

It would be nice to have more options on our accounts. For example sigatures...
And a category where we can post our tutorials.

It would be a lot better if you could edit the version number yourself and it not being put up by one every time you edit your submission, even if you haven't uploaded another version of your game.

Yeah, its strange there's no signatures. Don't like it fully but willing to give it a chance. I prefer phpbb though.
