The site, well... lets just say its not as good as I would have thought. Its definitely not a GMC-replacer (although it wasn't meant to be). It just doesn't feel like Game Maker, know what I mean? Seems way to commercialized now... :(

No it really doesn't feel commercialized. It feels like a great way for us indie GM delevopers to show off our games to the rest of the internet with a proper eye catching website and features that make it more fun to navigate the site and find more great games.

If it was commercial I'd expect some money please.

The GMC is a forum, not a site.. so you can't really compare it to a replacement. Its true that some parts of the GMC are now site based such as Creations and WIP, but thats about all that has changed.

I like this site (except some minor bugs and things that wil hopefullyl be fixed soon).

It's waaaaay easier to find the games you're searching for now and you also don't have to rely on bumping your topic to keep it from sinking into the wip swamp anymore.

Beast is a really strange forum system. I fail to understand why a partner of Game Maker which is supposed to be professional be using a forum system that's barely being used anywhere.

Now seriously, don't make this an argument Dinsdale. I understand what Faltzer is saying, and I was focusing that as one of the 'bad' things about YoYo.

I know but most of his comments on the gmc are mainly the bad points of websites.
But whatever I can't be arsed to have an argument, I leave it at that.

Also yes the showcasing of games is better,, but the Forums is still not nearly as good as GMC yet.

The GMC will remain as a Technical forum. This will be the "gamers" forum in a sense (or so I gather).

Thats only one game. And its not the game Im rating badly.

Yes, I know. I especially don't like the whole 'Delete Your Own Topic' thing... Not good for people who wish to control things... There idea, topic, etc. gets bashed, they delete it, instead of keeping it...

So this forum is more for the players of the games we make and less for the developers. I could see a lot of GMC members coming here to just chill out I guess. Since there isnt any real off topic chat forum on the GMC.

When you've been working with websites for as long as he has, imperfections are easy to find. Same thing with me and Game Making, every fangame was good because a normal person made it, but nowadays I know how to make them so I have way higher standards.

Its definitely not exactly what I expected from YoYo Games. I thought they would use something more advanced than Beast for the forums, although it seems to take the load of people better than the GMC and it seems to look integrated with the YYG site. However, it is in beta, so they must have more things planned :)
