Guys,
Are there any known reasons for games not to run on one's PC? I experienced the following problem with several games on the site already (both in InstantPlay and download).:
Basically I can see the game loading screen (and sometimes a game main menu) but after that the game window goes black. No errors, no PC lockdown just a black window where the game should be.(recently it was with a game called Nanozoa, but a similar thing happend with at least 3-4 other games). The only common thing I can see between them is that they all have mp3 music and the exe is over 10MB.
Anyhow I am more than happy to provide details of my PC and do some more work on this bug if someone can point me in the direction of the official bug list or something like that (cannot find the blasted thing anywhere)

My PC meets all the official specifications for game maker games (I develop them myself and never had any trouble). Are there any known clashes with other software or drivers? Has anyone else experienced this problem?

It is likely you are trying to run games created with GM 6.1 or lower on a vista machine, that doesn't work, vista can only run games made with GM 7 or higher.

1 your computer is old
2 your software may be dameged
3 what Scepheo said.

your computer sounds like it has a bug or a virus if it just shows you a blank black sheet. You said you made your own software? It could have becomed dameged over time is there anything else wrong with it? Also Game Maker may have a bug in try this, keep all of your files and download GM agian, see if that works.

Everyone. I know how to solve this problem.

The problem: The cash (temporary memory) on your computer is full.

The cause: When multiple programs that take up a lot of memory are running at the same time, the computer's cash will become full.

The solution:
1. Close all the programs that are running.
2. Call up the task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) and click the tabbed page labled process.
3. You should see a list of programs. Some should say SYSTEM next to them and the others should say your user name next to them.
4. Select all of the ones with your user name next to them, and click end process.
5. Go to your start menu and click Turn Off Computer.
6. Do NOT click restart. Click Turn off or Shut down.
7. Wait ten seconds after the computer shuts down
8. Turn the computer back on.
9. When you reboot the computer, the cash will be emptied, and your computer should be able to play games.

Hope this helps! if not, contact me at jacob@escusting.com
