Right now, No.
In the future...possibly.

GM8. At least a year away.

Likely there will be a way to upgrade GM7 to GM8 like they did with GM7 for GM6 and 5.

Game Maker will definatly come to consoles. It not a matter of 'if', its a matter of when. Im pretty sure that sandy said on the blog that "you shouldn't expect GM8 until next year" (he might have said that last year though...)

I really doubt it will, even when GM8 comes out.

I doubt it will, but that is pretty awesome. I did hear though that one guy made a DS game with Game Maker.

GM on consoles, maybe but not in a long time. If you've read the March 29 YoYoGames glog, you would've known that they are trying to get Game Maker games to be played on an iPhone. And Game Maker 8, not now, not next month. I think it would take about 1 or probably more years right now, they're making a Game Maker for Mac.

I was just asking because I played game maker type games on PS2, it would be neat if they had it on Wii, but on a phone? is that possible?

It will never happen. If the companies that own the consoles want people to make games for it, then they license a development kit to that company. If they wanted a bunch of crap games like the ones on yoyo (sorry, but's it's true.) they would have created their own gamemaking program. The consol game devlopers are nothing like us. Most of the developers here are kids that don't even know what a variable is. Consol game designers have spent years of education to get where they are. Most console companies only license the devkits to well known developers anyway. Why do you think modchips exsit? They exsit because the consol companies will not alow open development on their platforms. I think gamemaker should stay a pc-only tool. If you guys want to develop console games, you'll have to go through what all other major game developers had to go through. I'm sorry, but i'm so damn tired of having to repeat this fact over and over again. GAMEMAKER WILL NEVER BE PUT ON AN XBOX, Wii, PS3, OR ANY OTHER PLATFORM OTHER THAN PC AND MAC!

what ever platform it's made for i don't care as long as it is not made for lunix(not linux(lunix say lune-ix lunix)) because apparently people who use lunix are hackers because lunix is a hacking utility system for computers making it either harder or easier for hackers to hack other peoples systems so never trust that system or any one who uses it even if it is your best freind, or your uncle or any one, absolutely any one who uses lunix should be considdered a hacker and some one who is a possible threat to your computer or even you knowing how many illeagal things they might have done or still be doing.
ok here is a video from youtube it explains that it is not safe to type .comm at the end of any website where it should say .com and if you want the video it's here just see below:

Yes linux is a possiblility, but i did not metion it because I have not heard any official conformation from YoYo. Also, gflash is a tool that is looked down opon by Mark Overmars. That should be enough to convince you not to use it. You should respect the wishes of the person who gave us this amazing program.

Listen, I'm just trying to state the facts. Personal computers and consoles may be simlar in respect that they use similar components, but when it comes to development, pc's are more of an open platform than consoles. The pc market is big enough that anyone can create a program for a specific opperating system, but the console market is more resticted. This restriction is probably used to make sure that a console has a library of quality games. I'm not crushing anyone's hope, It's the console companies choice to limit development on their platform, and I belive that it's the right choice not to open easy console game development to a mainsteam internet community. You can go ahead and create a console game, just not in gamemaker.

Though true, there is one thing that I've notice, I've heard of something called a Gii-mote, it's a Wii mote for GM, if that is possible why isn't possible to make a GM for Wii? Also I've heard some topic's asking about GM for DS, and maybe one for the wii. I just wondering about if they had it yet because I got curious. Anyway hopefully it well come out. And plus does it really matter if it's better for the computer than console's? It's make-able (is that even a word?)

And I was just joking in my post, that's why I put a smile next to it.

You can use the Wii browser to play Flash games so you could develop in flash and play on your Wii through the web.

If you want to develop on the Xbox 360 you can get C# and XNA studio. Highly recommended, as you can join the XNA creator club and get your games published on XBLA - if they are good enough - or if they aren’t you can still play them on your 360 which is cool ;)

Game Maker on your PC is the easiest option though, lazy bonez :-D Not really it's just a heck of a lot faster. I use it for prototyping my games because it's the speediest option.

doob it writght
