yeah ive been running ubuntu on my computer and ive found it difficult to get game maker working on my system. yeah i know you can use wine and stuff to get windows applications to work on a linux machine but i think game maker should be put into linux form. of course....this is just a sugestion.

great idea A Linux Version of Game Maker would be wonderful and reach a wide audience.

It would be cool to have a version of GM for Linux. It would not only expand the audience, but satisfy a lot of GM user's needs and wants.

Whoa whoa, I'm not against GM going to linux or anything, but let's get a GM for Mac before we start thinking about yet a third platform ;)

smart thinking 4 once SoulRed ussually u would be arguing with others on your guestbook a lot but now u r actually being positive and well I guess u really have changed a bit. Well I am impressed we need more people like u around here if, people could all change like you and I myself(mrsmes) then it would be a wonderful thing and the community would be much more peaceful and much more happier.

I think that is planned, but yoyo is a small company. They can't just get things done over night.

That's a good idea. I don't have any Linux, but I'm considering Ubuntu if it doesn't overwrite your current OS. Keep up with the great ideas!

Either way, if they did GM for Linux, it would take more time to release the next version since they need to make the versions the same for it to work. Although it's a good idea!

Nelson: true.
but they would also need backwards and forwards compatibility between systems which may mean using more converters.

in the mean time I found this interesting topic on the gmc about using windows emulators to run Game Maker on linux but it will be slower.
